Green is the colour of nature.  It relates to balance, harmony, well-being, and re-birth, and suggests fresh beginnings and growth.

Due to the fast-pace of modern life and how - as a race - we consume constantly, we are starting to crave something real.  As we begin to slow down and become more aware, we take more responsibility for our sustainability and the natural world around us, and are becoming more in tune with nature.  In turn, we are seeing a trend for bringing the outdoors into the home, and this return to nature is being reflected in interior design with the introduction of earthy tones in brown, purple and, of course, green.

The colour green can add life to any space and is the perfect contrast to white, grey or wood finishes to form a connection to nature in the home.  Pictured right, ALNOPLAN in Katthult Pine-effect – an elegant wood-effect door, which ingeniously mimics the look of real wood - is complemented by ALNOFINE in Lime Green to provide a refreshing, bright space and a sense of well-being.

If you have your own particular shade of green in mind, then ALNOFINE, or handleless ALNOSTAR FINE, is available in RAL and NCS colours (pictured left), allowing you to select the perfect hue for you.  Whether you opt for a dark, rich emerald green, or go for a pastel, mint tint, the RAL and NCS colour option offers you a spectrum of colours to choose from.

If you want to embrace the trend with a subtle splash of green to your kitchen space, try adding accent or open feature shelves to create a point of interest, and somewhere to display decorative items.  Green works beautifully with silver accessories for paler shades, and gold or copper for deeper tones, and open shelving is an inexpensive way to update the look of your kitchen to match seasonal trends as display items can be easily changed.  Another, more inexpensive way of trying the green look, is to invest in houseplants to decorate your kitchen space, as seen with the ALNOSTRUCT range, pictured right.  Fresh foliage not only looks great, but it also has plenty of health benefits as this article from House Beautiful magazine explains.

Symbolic of new beginnings, Greenery is described by Pantone as ‘a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of Spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew.’
