Blue is a timeless colour.  It is the colour of life; from the sky to the sea, blue suggests revitalisation and relaxation.  Both classic and contemporary, when it comes to the home, blue is a colour scheme that works with little effort, making it ideal for creating a space that will stand the test of time, much like an ALNO kitchen.

Restful, soothing and calm, blue is the perfect accent colour to add a sophisticated point of interest to your kitchen with the addition of open shelving and contrasting feature cabinets.  Take inspiration from ALNOFINE pictured below in Deep Blue Matt and pair dark, moody blues with white for a fresh, stylish take on the monochrome look.  Or, blend elegant wood-effect doors with bespoke shelving in a dramatic shade of blue, and intricate middle-eastern inspired tile-like panels, as seen with ALNOPLAN in Walnut-effect pictured right.

By creating a tranquil environment in your kitchen, the colour blue exudes peace even when things get heated.  Emphasise deep tones of the colour by offsetting with accessories in copper or gold, and for lighter blues, try finishing touches in silver and grey.

DULUX COLOUR OF THE YEAR 2017: DENIM DRIFT

Blue has been, and will continue to be, a constant in every aspect of our lives.  From the deepest ink blue, to the palest misty blue, this colour spans every spectrum of life.

Recognised as a universal colour, it’s no surprise that Dulux has chosen blue as the base for its 2017 ‘Colour of the Year’, Denim Drift.  The blue-grey shade is inspired by everyday blues, particularly the wardrobe staple we’ve all come to want and need, denim.

ALNO offers a variety of kitchen cabinetry in various hues of blue, spanning from bright, refreshing blues, to teal blues and midnight shades.  Discover the ALNOFINE, ALNOSUND, ALNOSHAPE and ALNOBRIT ranges (pictured left), and find a blue that’s right for you.
